Located in northwestern metro Atlanta, Lake Allatoona is 12,000 acres with 270 miles of shoreline. Built by The Army Corps of Engineers in 1950, the lake has become the most visited lake in Georgia and has logged more visitor hours than any of the other 450 Corps projects in the United States. Contributing to its popularity is the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains foothills location rich in both Native American and Civil War history and the easy access from I-75 and I-575.
Recreation activities include boating, fishing, jet skiing, wildlife watching and camping – family fun or everyone.
